ISSUE 09 — UN RETORNO A LA CELEBRACIÓN
Hay momentos que simplemente ocurren.
No los planeamos, no los buscamos y, sin embargo, cuando aparecen frente a nosotros, sentimos que estaban destinados a suceder.
Esta edición nació precisamente de uno de esos momentos.
Durante un viaje que comenzó como una celebración de cumpleaños, tres días antes de mi vuelo, Madonna anunció que estaría en Ámsterdam. Tres días. Eso fue todo lo que necesitó el universo para cambiar ligeramente el rumbo del viaje. Y, por supuesto, apenas se habilitaron los boletos, tuve que conseguir el mío.
Terminé frente a una de las figuras que más ha entendido la celebración como una forma de expresión. Madonna ha convertido la música, la noche, el exceso, la provocación y la libertad en un lenguaje propio. Verla en vivo, en Ámsterdam, durante un viaje que ya de por sí significaba celebrar la vida, hizo que todo se sintiera un poco más cinematográfico.
Y quizás de eso se trata esta edición.
ISSUE 09 es una vuelta a la celebración.
A la fiesta como ritual. A la noche como espacio de libertad. A salir sin necesariamente tener un destino. A vestirse para ser visto, bailar hasta perder la noción del tiempo, encontrar amor entre las luces de la noche y regresar a casa cuando la ciudad empieza a despertar.
Ámsterdam se convirtió, inevitablemente, en parte de esta inspiración. Sus calles, sus luces, sus noches, sus encuentros inesperados y esa sensación tan particular de estar lejos de casa, pero completamente presente.
Esta edición no pretende decirnos cómo celebrar. Más bien, quiere recordarnos por qué lo hacemos.
Porque también necesitamos la frivolidad. Necesitamos bailar. Necesitamos música demasiado alta, luces demasiado brillantes y noches que se convierten en recuerdos. Necesitamos ocasiones para olvidarnos por un momento de todo aquello que nos pesa.
RENATUS siempre ha sido un espacio para explorar la identidad, la cultura, la moda y las distintas formas de habitar el mundo. Esta vez, simplemente decidimos hacerlo con una copa en la mano, un poco de glitter y la música sonando de fondo.
Así que bienvenidos a la noche.

ISSUE 09 — A RETURN TO CELEBRATION
There are moments that simply happen.
We don’t plan them, we don’t seek them out, and yet, when they appear before us, we somehow feel they were always meant to happen.
This issue was born from one of those moments.
During a trip that began as a birthday celebration, just three days before my flight, Madonna announced that she would be in Amsterdam. Three days. That was all the universe needed to slightly change the course of the trip. And, of course, the moment tickets became available, I had to get one.
I found myself standing before one of the figures who has understood celebration as a form of expression better than almost anyone. Madonna has turned music, nightlife, excess, provocation, and freedom into a language of her own. Seeing her live, in Amsterdam, during a trip that was already about celebrating life, made everything feel a little more cinematic.
And perhaps that is what this issue is really about.
ISSUE 09 is a return to celebration.
To the party as ritual. To the night as a space for freedom. To going out without necessarily having a destination. To dressing to be seen, dancing until you lose track of time, finding love among the lights of the night, and making your way home as the city begins to wake.
Amsterdam inevitably became part of this inspiration. Its streets, its lights, its nights, its unexpected encounters, and that particular feeling of being far from home while feeling completely present.
This issue isn’t here to tell us how to celebrate. Rather, it wants to remind us why we do it.
Because we need frivolity, too. We need to dance. We need music that is too loud, lights that are too bright, and nights that become memories. We need moments when, even just for a little while, we can forget about everything that weighs us down.
RENATUS has always been a space to explore identity, culture, fashion, and the different ways we inhabit the world. This time, we simply decided to do it with a glass in hand, a little glitter, and music playing in the background.
So, welcome to the night.

Antes de cerrar esta revista, quiero recordarte algo:
todavía hay mucho por vivir.
A veces esperamos que llegue ese gran momento que transforme todo, y mientras esperamos, olvidamos que la vida ya está sucediendo.
Está en una canción que aparece en el momento perfecto. En una conversación que se extiende hasta la madrugada. En un viaje inesperado. En una noche que no estaba planeada. En alguien que te hace reír. En despertar y descubrir que todavía tienes tiempo.
Tiempo para cambiar. Para empezar de nuevo. Para enamorarte. Para viajar. Para bailar. Para equivocarte. Para descubrir quién eres y quién todavía puedes llegar a ser.
No necesitas tener todas las respuestas. No necesitas saber qué viene después.
Solo necesitas estar presente para descubrirlo.
Así que celebra lo pequeño. Di que sí un poco más. Ponte ese vestido. Sal a bailar. Haz algo que te dé miedo. Enamórate de la vida en sus formas más inesperadas.

Before you close this issue, I want to remind you of something:
there is still so much left to live.
Sometimes we wait for that one great moment that will transform everything, and while we wait, we forget that life is already happening.
It lives in a song that finds you at exactly the right moment. In a conversation that lasts until sunrise. In an unexpected trip. In a night that was never planned. In someone who makes you laugh. In waking up and realizing that you still have time.
Time to change. To begin again. To fall in love. To travel. To dance. To make mistakes. To discover who you are and who you can still become.
You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to know what comes next.
You only need to be present enough to discover it.
So celebrate the little things. Say yes a little more often. Wear that dress. Go dancing. Do something that scares you. Fall in love with life in all its unexpected forms.
Because perhaps the most beautiful thing about being alive is precisely this:
not knowing what comes next.
